Planting Seeds: Sou Fujimoto presents Futures of the Future


Globally renowned Japanese architect, Sou Fujimoto is taking residence in Japan’s new cultural home, Japan House London. Presenting the best of Japanese art, design and innovation, Japan House allows us access to the wonders of Japanese culture. Seen for the first time in the UK, Japan House hosts the innovative works of one of Japan’s most influential contemporary architects.

Fujimoto’s vision of the future is not a fully imagined set of assumptions but is to plant the seeds of inspiration and potential. This exhibition looks at not only current projects but also Fujimoto’s architectural experiments for the future asking the visitor to share in imagining a variety of futures of the future. Through his work, he forecasts the potential of architecture in years to come and how we can build and develop upon modern architectural design of today.

Fujimoto will also be leading a talk at the Design Museum on 12th June entitled ‘Sou Fujimoto: Futures of the Future', followed by a session in conversation with The Guardian’s architecture and design critic Oliver Wainwright.’
